Yes, I am very behind in blogging sessions! These are from last June, I had a full day of mini sessions for Dads to celebrate Father's Day. It was a beautiful day filled with amazing families.

Back in June, I held a day of Mini Sessions to celebrate the relationship a Father has with his children. This family asked if I would be willing to include a couple of them as a family as they didn't have any family portraits. Of course I said yes! They are a lovely couple with a beautiful little boy.
A mother is someone who dreams great dreams for you, but then she lets you chase the dreams you have for yourself and loves you just the same. I love watching a mom with her child. There is just something almost magical about it. They smile and talk and most of the time they forget I am there with the camera at all - which is exactly what I hope will happen.
We were supposed to be outside for this session, but 30 seconds after they stepped out of the car it started to rain. And not just a little drizzle either. So we packed up and headed for a nice, warm indoor spot. Just perfect for a little girl in a summery sundress. After having to post-pone the Mommy and Me sessions due to snow (at the end of April) we had a beautiful day for them. In a spot sheltered from the wind it was warm and sunny. Perfect for the munchkin and her gorgeous Mommy! She was such a happy little girl. So curious about everything. I love this age.. .OK who am I kidding? I love all ages :) I love meeting new families and their precious children. Is she not adorable? Yeah, I thought so too!
As Moms, it is easy to come up with a reason not to step in front of the camera. We aren't happy with how we look, we think it doesn't matter to the kids, so many reasons.
Can I let you in on a little secret? Captures these moments with your kids before they grow up. Childhood disappears too quickly and when they are grown your kids are going to want pictures of you and them. They see you every day, the little wrinkle here or weight just you just haven't lost since giving birth - your kids see you and love you regardless of that! So step out in front of the lens and I am super excited to announce that I am now offering 1st Birthday Cake Smash sessions! I am teaming up with Amanda over at Fairycakes and Other Bakes to provide my clients with this wonderful service! Amanda has recently opened her own bake shop (while being on mat leave if you can believe it!!) and we thought it would be a great idea to work together.
Cake Smashing is fun at any age (I'm pretty sure my 8 year old would still LOVE to do it!) but there is just something special about a one year old exploring, curious, unsure and then suddenly.....S.M.A.S.H. Come to me and don't worry about providing the cake or cleaning up the mess (well....with the exception of your little one!) It is all taken care of and even better, you will get pictures to remember this moment forever (think blown up on their wedding day!) For more information or to book a session please contact me! All Cake Smash Sessions in May will be held at a discounted rate. I would also really appreciate it if you would head over to Fairycakes and Other Bakes and show Amanda's page some love! They're here! And what is that you may ask? Why Gift Certificates of course! And why is that exciting? Because now there are all sorts of options for you. Go in with a friend or two and gift someone a Maternity and Newborn package. Looking for something different for your first grand-baby? Why not try the Baby's First Year Package. Our gift certificates come in any denomination. Want to gift a photo-session to some? Just choose the amount you want to spend, we'll fill in the amount and they can use it towards their session fee or prints or anything we have to offer. That Mother's Day Mini Session? This would be great to gift to a new Mom (albeit a little early). They will treasure the memories captured and you have a unique gift as well! For those interested, the front of the card looks like: Interested? Want to find out more? Feel free to get in touch with me via the Contact page. I would love to hear from you!
