They are a beautiful family. Filled with laughter, energy and pure delight. Their girls are happy-go-lucky and it was a pure pleasure to be able to photograph their family as they awaited the arrival of Baby Girl.
And these are the moments I love being able to capture from in-home newborn sessions. Things like this just don't happen in-studio!
Never give up on a dream,
Faith in God includes
a small way to give back, as the new year begins...
The Olivia Act named after one of the children killed in Newtown, was started by a photographer who wishes to be anonymous. Olivia’s family had family pictures taken a short time before she was killed. Those pictures are precious and now priceless to them. Upon hearing this, this photographer was moved to give away a 30 minute family photo shoot and has challenged other photographers to do the same. We go about our daily lives and sometimes we don’t take the time or have the resources to have family photos taken.
I will be taking nominations for a family who you think would appreciate this gift. The session will take place sometime after the New Year and will be completely FREE to the family being nominated. Please inbox or e-mail their name, contact information and a brief summary of why you chose them to email@example.com
Please put "THE OLIVIA ACT NOMINATION" in the subject line. Please do not post their information here. I will take nominations until December 31, 2012. The winner will be chosen and contacted early in January 2013. Please share, Thank you. ♥
Fellow Photographers, please consider taking part in The Olivia Act!
There is something about expectant mothers that I find truly beautiful. It doesn't matter if they don't feel that way (and trust me, I know by the end of pregnancy most women feel anything BUT beautiful!), it's how I see them and it's one reason I think that maternity photography is so important, to help a mom-to-be realize that she is beautiful.
Every family is unique, this couple wanted some maternity shots with their bows as they are avid bow hunters. Even Little Miss got to get in on the action!
This is one beautiful couple. She was glowing with new life and he was more than happy to go along with her plans for a photo-session.
They were great. It was a beautiful sunny day....with one exception. The wind was FREEZING. Like I should of had a winter jacket, hat and mitts freezing as it was blowing off the lake. But they didn't complain. In fact, she even volunteered to wear a tank top at one point!
This little baby is going to be joining a wonderful family. Hopefully the last little bit of pregnancy will fly by and they will be able to snuggle their precious little girl soon.
I am beyond blessed to know some pretty amazing people in my life. Sometimes, I am humbled by the way things fall into place and the words that are spoken about me.

I have a bunch of sessions coming up in the next little while. A family of 6, a maternity and a squishy newborn boy. I will be busy but I am thrilled about it and so excited to meet these families, to be able to capture them for who they are.
Stay tuned for sneak peeks as I edit them.
Happy Easter weekend!!
