Thunder Bay Family Photographer
This family was the sweetest. So happy and content and very obviously in love In love with each other, with life, with their adorable little boy.

It is always so much fun to meet families and get to know them. To see who they are, even in the short time of a session.

There had been days of rain and cooler temperatures prior to their session and I was a little worried that the trend would continue. But the morning of, dawned bright, sunny and HOT. The hottest we have had this year so far. And I am thankful for that.

Thank you for trusting me with your pictures. I truly enjoyed getting to know you!

I am super excited to announce that I am now offering 1st Birthday Cake Smash sessions!  I am teaming up with Amanda over at Fairycakes and Other Bakes to provide my clients with this wonderful service!
Amanda has recently opened her own bake shop (while being on mat leave if you can believe it!!) and we thought it would be a great idea to work together.

Cake Smashing is fun at any age (I'm pretty sure my 8 year old would still LOVE to do it!) but there is just something special about a one year old exploring, curious, unsure and then suddenly.....S.M.A.S.H.

Come to me and don't worry about providing the cake or cleaning up the mess (well....with the exception of your little one!) It is all taken care of and even better, you will get pictures to remember this moment forever (think blown up on their wedding day!)

For more information or to book a session please contact me! All Cake Smash Sessions in May will be held at a discounted rate.

I would also really appreciate it if you would head over to Fairycakes and Other Bakes and show Amanda's page some love!

We waited, and waiter (for what felt like ever, but in reality was only 2 weeks!) for the weather to turn, the wind to stop, the snow to turn to sunshine.

And, this family' patience paid off.

We got a beautiful day for our session.
This family is beautiful inside and out. Their kids are delightful and funny and happy. I enjoyed watching them interact with one another. Though their ages span a number of years, there is a connection there that inspires me.
That makes me realize that this Mom and Dad are doing a great job raising their kids, they should be proud of the young ladies and men that they have in their house.

A quiet moment with mom a littlest girl. Beautiful.  A mom loving on her child, distracted by nothing.
A beautiful session and family. I am thankful for the chance I had to meet them!

They're here!
And what is that you may ask?
Why Gift Certificates of course!
And why is that exciting?
Because now there are all sorts of options for you.
Go in with a friend or two and gift someone a Maternity and Newborn package.
Looking for something different for your first grand-baby? Why not try the Baby's First Year Package.

Our gift certificates come in any denomination. Want to gift a photo-session to some? Just choose the amount you want to spend, we'll fill in the amount and they can use it towards their session fee or prints or anything we have to offer.

That Mother's Day Mini Session? This would be great to gift to a new Mom (albeit a little early). They will treasure the memories captured and you have a unique gift as well!

For those interested, the front of the card looks like:

I love taking pictures of nature. Of sitting and waiting for that perfect moment of light touching the subject. Waiting for the bird to land just so.
All my nature prints can be purchased. Go the the Moments of Beauty page and follow the links from there!

This is one beautiful couple. She was glowing with new life and he was more than happy to go along with her plans for a photo-session.

They were great. It was a beautiful sunny day....with one exception. The wind was FREEZING. Like I should of had a winter jacket, hat and mitts freezing as it was blowing off the lake. But they didn't complain. In fact, she even volunteered to wear a tank top at one point!
This little baby is going to be joining a wonderful family. Hopefully the last little bit of pregnancy will fly by and they will be able to snuggle their precious little girl soon.

I forget how little they are. 6 days new and such a good baby. He fed and passed out cold for the session, it was such a dream for me.
Mommy was content to let me do my thing and Big Brother was a huge help (when he wasn't bouncing on the bed or trying to smoother baby bro in kisses!) Yup, brothers. They will be friends for life and, for these two it has started already.
I was amazed with this mom. Little Sister is still very much a baby herself and when the session takes place close to nap time...well, she was ready for bed. But not before we managed to capture a few of her and baby.
Isn't she beautiful??

I am beyond blessed to know some pretty amazing people in my life. Sometimes, I am humbled by the way things fall into place and the words that are spoken about me.

I was featured on Alan Dickson Photography's blog.  :)

I have a bunch of sessions coming up in the next little while. A family of 6, a maternity and a squishy newborn boy. I will be busy but I am thrilled about it and so excited to meet these families, to be able to capture them for who they are.

Stay tuned for sneak peeks as I edit them.

Happy Easter weekend!!

Life has been happening all around and it has been a while since I have updated this blog! A wonderful family session with two adorable kids and a couple of mini sessions to benefit a friend's family and, a chance to step outside the box and photograph a band at their first studio session....Oh so fun!
